Coating Services

Surface Technology coating is applied using a rotating motion along with a cathode technology in a physical vapor deposition (PVD) chamber process.  The desired elements are vaporized from a solid source, and then those atoms/molecules are transported through a low-pressure gas/plasma vacuum to the substrate where they condense onto the product.

PVD Coating Benefits including heat resistance, increased hardness, increased lubricity, oxidation resistance, wear resistance

PVD Coating Benefits

• Heat resistance
• Increased hardness
• Increased lubricity

AlTiN - Aluminum Titanium Nitride (Coating No: C1)

AlTiN coating is a high performance coating ideally suited to carbide cutting tools because it is engineered for high temperatures, alloys, and both dry and wet cutting applications. The coating is silver-black in color.

TiAlN - Titanium Aluminum Nitride (Coating No: C2)

TiAlN coating is ideal for applications where heat resistance and extra abrasive materials are involved. TiAlN coating is usually selected for carbide cutting tooling, because it is great in dry or wet uses. TiAlN works well in materials such as tool steels and nickel alloys. It is violet-black in color.

TiN - Titanium Nitride (C3)

TiN is the most universal coating. It is great for medical instruments, cutting tools, and die & punch applications. TiN is outstanding for wear-resistance, friction, and anti- corrosion. Mainly used as a general-purpose coating, TiN coating is gold in color.

TiCN - Titanium Carbonitride (C4)

TiCN coating is mainly designed for hard applications on products such as aerospace punches. For heavy-duty operations on tools made with HSS or harden steel, TiCN is highly  recommended. The coating is reddish-brown or sliver-black in color.

CrN - Chromium Nitride (C5)

CrN coating has proven to be great in conditions under high loads. CrN has a low stress impact that enables it to have great adhesion. This coating is recommended in applications such as carbon steels, aluminum, aluminized, zinc-coated steels, brass, copper, and 300 series stainless steels. CrN coating is recommended for injection molding industries. Its color is white silver.

ZrN - Zirconium Nitride (C6)

Zirconium Nitride coating is engineered for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, where high lubricity is needed. Since ZrN has a high lubricity, it reduces build-up edge on cutting tools. ZrN works best in applications such as titanium, alloys, nickel, brass, copper, cast iron and zinc. It is bright gold in color.

AlCrN - Aluminum Chromium Nitride (C7)

Aluminum Chromium Nitride has extraordinary wear resistance under extreme mechanical stress. This coating is recommended in the use of machining, such as gear cutting tools, inserts, some punching and die cast. This coating is bright silver in color.
